The U.S. Mission in Cairo, Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of APO Mail Clerk.
Final grade/step will be determined by Washington.
The work schedule for this position is: Part-Time 24-32 Hours/week. Flexible work hours with occasional outside of regular tour of duty hours including weekends, nights, and holidays.

The incumbent performs a variety of tasks associated with postal operations in the Cairo Embassy Army/Air Forces Post Office (APO) to include pickup, deliver, processing, physical screening, and distribution of personal and office mail. Additional duties include the associated clerical and financial transactions necessary to receive and dispatch mail. The incumbent is also responsible for receiving, processing, and dispatching registered mail.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Experience: Minimum of two years in a customer service-oriented position or general postal experience (i.e. registered mail) is required.
Completion of Secondary school is required.
Language Proficiency: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. Applicant must identify English language proficiency level in the application to be eligible for the job.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to lift 70 pounds. Must be flexible to work occasionally outside of regular tour of duty hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Must be customer service-oriented to tend to the APO mail window, be able to handle long periods of walking/standing, and display tact, courtesy, adaptability, initiative, and mature judgement.
